The Target Talent Faculty Hiring Steering Committee (“Steering Committee”) will be appointed by the President, with the Head of the Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas (EMIA) as the convenor and the four School Deans as members. The functions of the Steering Committee include: 

• Calling for nominations and applications;
• Giving advice on suitability of candidates for target talent hiring as necessary; 
• Endorsing ad hoc Search and Appointments Committee (“Search Committee”) for each shortlisted candidate; and 
• Endorsing membership of the Division’s Substantiation and Promotion Committee (“S&P Committee”) at initial stage when the Division does not have enough faculty to serve on S&P Committee.
