The University is committed to support diverse faculty talent to explore new frontiers in a more flexible way not being limited by existing academic disciplinary structures.  With the establishment of the new Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas (EMIA) in July 2021, the Target Talent Faculty Hiring Scheme (TTFH) is launched to facilitate the recruitment process of targeted faculty at the University level via this agile and flexible platform.

Unlike conventional hiring procedures, TTFH mechanism is open to all academic units and welcome nominations from all faculty members.  It is meant to address difficulties encountered in hiring within Schools and Departments, especially if their home departments are unable to support in timely manners or if the candidates have particular expectation in timeline. Such hiring flexibility allows the University to recruit faculty deemed of high quality and create synergy to University’s future development.

A steering committee comprising Deans of four Schools and Head of EMIA will drive the direction and implementation of TTFH scheme.
